Pattern and palette
Stamped Concrete in Chicago Ridge, Designed Around Your Home
Patios and paths with the character of natural stone, in colors chosen beside your brick and roofline and resting on a firm stone bed.
Texture, Color and the Ground Beneath
Stamped concrete is where our design instincts get the most room to play. A patio can echo the warm tones of a brick facade, a garden path can take on the irregular charm of flagstone, and a border in a contrasting pattern can frame the whole space like a rug frames a room. Choosing well means seeing samples in the right setting, so we bring pattern mats and color chips to your home and hold them against the brick, siding and roof in natural light. Yet the most beautiful pattern means little if the slab beneath it settles. That is why stamped work begins exactly like our structural slabs: excavation to stable soil, a bed of tamped stone, forms pitched to carry water away and reinforcement placed within the concrete. Then the artistry begins. A base color is blended into the mix or broadcast across the surface, and a contrasting release settles into the recesses to give the texture depth. When the concrete reaches just the right firmness, the mats are laid and pressed, while small hand tools carry the texture into each corner and along every border. Joints follow natural lines in the design. Once cured, the surface is rinsed and a sealer is applied as the finishing touch, enriching the palette and helping it shed water and stains.
The Elements of a Stamped Project
What you admire on the surface depends on each of these.
In-home design samples
Pattern mats and color chips viewed beside your home in daylight.
A structural foundation
Stable soil, tamped stone and pitched forms beneath the decoration.
A chosen base tone
Mixed through the batch or dusted over the fresh surface.
Contrasting release
A second shade that deepens the texture.
Borders and accents
Optional bands in a complementary pattern to frame the space.
Hand-textured edges
Detail carried into corners so the pattern feels complete.
Joints within the design
Hidden along the pattern's natural seams.
A finishing sealer
A final coat that saturates the palette and repels spills.
How a Stamped Surface Takes Shape
Design and price
We measure, review samples with you at home and provide a written price naming pattern, colors, border, base, thickness and sealer.
Groundwork, then artistry
Any existing slab is cleared, stone is tamped and forms are placed. Color and pattern follow the pour at precisely the right moment.
Cure and seal
After curing, the surface is rinsed and sealed, forms come away and the garden is left neat.
